Can LitePoint zSeries test BER?
A BER or Packet Error Rate (PER) test usually uses a signal source (VSG) driving the DUT (e.g., phone or chipset reference design), and the DUT responds with number of packets or bits received. This test, called RX Sensitivity, is a standard wireless test.
LitePoint’s IQ series, along with our IQfact+™ software, automate this RX Sensitivity test via control of the wireless chip on the DUT typically over a USB connection to the DUT.
LitePoint’s zSeries testers are used for component-level testing (e.g., testing a discrete RF PA/FEM or XCVR). This does not need DUT chipset controls.
